SS501 to Release Mini-album in Korea
[2009-10-19]

The five-member boy band SS501, which has been holding its first Asia tour entitled "Persona" since its debut in 2005, will release a mini-album in Korea late this month. Entitled "Rebirth," it's the first album to feature all five members in a year and seven months.

After performing in Korea and Japan in August, SS501 finally visited Taiwan to perform at the Taipei Arena. Kim Hyun-joong, who came down with swine flu in September during his stay in Japan, said his swine flu symptoms included a fever of over 39.5℃, diarrhea six to seven times a day, and coughs of 4-5 times a minute. "It's like the worst degree of a cold. The most difficult part was being isolated. It's a very lonesome disease," said Kim, adding that he was scared to see other swine flu patients who were hospitalized on the same floor with him dying of the disease. "I believed that I would recover," said the singer.

Following the nice chat about his swine flu experience, Kim went on to discuss the group's popularity in Taiwan. SS501 received a very warm welcome from its Taiwanese fans. The group held its first fan meeting in Taiwan in June, but it is SS501's first concert in that country. Five albums from SS501 that were released in Taiwan in July sold more than 100,000 copies in just three months, earning SS501 the White Gold Disc from the Taiwanese album distributor.

Taiwanese dailies covered SS501's arrival to Taiwan. One of them wrote that some 600 fans welcomed the group at the airport and were upset to see Kim Hyun-joong looking emaciated after falling ill. The daily also added that SS501 was welcomed by 1,500 fans back in June when it visited the country for a fan meeting.

As was expected, SS501's concert in Taiwan was sold out. "We rented a rehearsal room on the day of our arrival and rehearsed till midnight. The next day we held a news conference and rehearsed again from 3PM till midnight. We wanted to make everything perfect because the stage was different from Korea and Japan," said the group members.

The repertoire of SS501's Asia tour concerts includes songs from its new mini-album. Its jacket features the name Steven Lee, who wrote all the songs. He is a Korean American producer who also wrote for the popular German group US5 and top Japanese groups KAT-TUN and Arashi. The renowned music engineer Ken Lewis, who also worked with Usher and John Legend, took care of mixing, why choreographer AJ, who used to choreograph for Michael Jackson and Usher, created SS501's new dance.

"Our new songs including the title song 'Love Like This' are pop-style numbers. We had many discussions with Steven Lee to come up with pop songs that appeal to the Korean public. This album is very special to us because it reflects our opinions. We wanted to create our unique style while the K-pop scene was dominated by 'hook songs.' Rather than following trends, we wanted to set new trends," said Kim.

Due to a number of problems, the album release was postponed by two months. The song that the group received from a music dealer to be used as a title song was found to have already been released overseas. To make things worse, the dealer turned out to have no right to sell the song and just wanted to reap profits.

"The song that we heard on a plane on our way from Japan was identical with the song that we were to release soon. We notified our agency and realized that we had been duped by the dealer. Had we released that song, we would have been accused of plagiarism," said Kim.

The new album contains five songs. The lyrics of one of them were written personally by the members for their fans. Kim Hyun-joong wrote the lyrics for the song "Obsess." The special edition of the album sold more than 30,000 copies on the day of its release; 20,000 additional copies are to be released soon in 10 countries.

The five members finally got together after being active solo for a long time. Kim Hyun-joong appeared in the TV drama "Boys Over Flowers," Park Jung-min acted in the musical "Grease," and Heo Young-saeng, Kim Hyung-joon and Kim Kyu-jong were active with the hit song "U R Man." This time, all five are determined to stay together for as long as possible.

SS501 will perform in Shanghai in November, before it flies to Hong Kong in December and visits Thailand and Malaysia in January. In February, the group will perform in Singapore and Beijing.

"We realize that the U.S. music market is hard to succeed in. We want to lay a springboard in Asia before we advance into the Middle East, Africa and the U.S.," said the SS501 members.

it seems a little too flat
i dont really like it

it has been really really fun.

although im alr not one of te jumpers,

i still had fun

at first,

they werent really that happy that i was here

but, i did not care

since i had alr paid

and i really want to leave this cca really happily.

they soon got okay with me and talked to me normally

natallie was real nice:)

we were almost alw partners during training

anyway, lets start from the 1st day

18th nov

i reached at about 8.30pm
no sec ones 'cept sarah, yiling, and megan
we went out to eat gelares
but no space for so many pple
so we ended up eating mc cafe
cheers to double chocalate whatsthefullname
it rocks
anyway,
we made our way back to the chalet
and me and tiffany ate a little beehoon and some zappel
nice
then we watched click it
but not the whole thing
so i thnk im gonna watch it on youtube
then
we went to sleep
i slept in the same room as melissa, aisyah,wendelynn
and had a bed to myself since the rest are at the other room or want to sleep ont the floor
it was next morning alr

early in the morning 5'o clock-or somewhere there,
jumpers woke up early to walk walk walk
walk then mrt then walk walk walk
all the way to toapayoh stadium
to have training
well im not a jumper
so i stayed back with wen rui, yan rui, and jacinda
i woke up at 8am
and lay on the bed waiting and playing hp until 9.30 am
thats when yan rui woke up
then we cleaned up the kitchen little and had some BONDING
haha
anw, that was after we bathed(NOT TOGETHER)

then
wenrui woke up and stoned, looking at the curtain
then jacinda woke up
talked and talkde and watched tv
then jacinda chose her clothes to wear after complaining that all of them sucked and are ugly

then we went out to meet the rest
and went to have lunch at burgerking

I agree that the building of the Aswan High Dam has brought more problems than benefits to the environment. The Aswan High Dam had caused Lake Nasser to swell when there are heavy rains and thus, flood ancient monuments and destroy them. The crops grown there also have a lack of nutrients as there is no constant flowing of nutrients from the river as the dam blocks off most of the nutrients. The waste also could not be cleared as the water does not flow constantly, washing away the waste. The Aswan High Dam had also caused an evaporation of ten percent of the water from the Nile River. These facts have made me agree that the building of The Aswan High Dam has brought more problems than benefits to the environment.

However, I also agree that the Aswan High Dam has brought more benefits than problems to the environment of Egypt. The Aswan High Dam had caused lesser annual floods and also, it produces cheaper electricity, called hydro-electricity, which does not run out and is environment friendly. Hydro-electricity is good for the environment as it comes from a natural source which is the river. The Aswan High Dam brings benefits to the environment in Egypt as it provides a good source of water for the plants that grow there. These facts had made me agree that the Aswan High Dam has brought more benefits than problems to the environment in Egypt.

I agree that the Aswan High Dam has brought more problems than benefits to the people of Egypt. The crops that are grown near Lake Nasser has a lack of nutrients as the water does not flow constantly, bringing nutrients in for the crops. This has caused the farmers to but more artificial fertilizer, making the production price go up. The waste of the villagers near Lake Nasser also could not be washed away as the river does not flow constantly. This had brought water-borne diseases to the people, like for example, malaria. The people who had stayed near the river bank has to be evacuated and they have to find another place to live in case of river floods which happens quite often when heavy rains occur. This had made them spend money on building houses instead of living in a perfectly good house. These facts had made me agree that the Aswan High Dam has brought more problems than benefits to the people.

However, I also agree that the Aswan High Dam had brought more benefits than problems to the people. At Lake Nasser, fishers can have a good catch of fish as there are plentiful fish in the lake. The boats at the lake can also be bigger, transporting more goods and people across the lake as it is very big. The building of the Aswan High Dam had also brought an increase of twenty percent of farmland, increasing the amount of food for the villagers. The dam also provides cheap electricity and water to the homes as the dam produces hydro-electricity. This way, the villagers do not have to pay so much for electricity. The lake has brought the villagers a good amount of food and water, thus, I agree that the building of the Aswan High Dam had brought more benefits to the people.

In conclusion, I agree that the dam has brought more problems than benefits to the environment and the people as it has caused the environment to lose land that can be used to plant trees to decrease global warming or to grow crops for the people to consume but all these lands are submerged in the lake. The people had also suffered diseases and has to change their lodgings because of that lake, thus, I agree that the dam has brought more problems than benefits to the environment and the people.

on thursday

i was standing at the bustop with part of my leg on the yellow line and my bag sticking out

i screamed cos i was like...

we went up the fucking bus and that driver was standing at his seat glaring at me

yea!
its my b'dae!!!
but i had a horrible EMO feeling over me
i dunno.
i cant cheer up.
i felt lonely.
dunno y.
i had a headache.
i wanted to celebrate with yixuan, marissa, yiliang, and all my pri fwens.
(no off. to all my cgss fwens)
i missed dem.
i wanted to juz go their hse.
i wanted to go bak in time.
i felt so old all of a sudden

my family bring me go to singapore flyer!!!!
